Newspaper Submission requirements:

  1. The call for queries will be sent out to our current roster of writers twice a year.

  4. Submit completed articles and images prior to deadline.
  5. Deadline for January - June CD is November 15
  6. Deadline for July - December CD is May 15
  7. Original content is preferred, although previously published articles are acceptable, provided they haven't been published in any of our newspapers
  8. We will let you know if your pitch has been accepted, but this does not act as a letter of assignment.

  8. Check your spelling, punctuation and grammar before submitting your article.
  9. Paste the text directly into the e-mail message and also attach your article as an "MS Word" document.
  10. We prefer gripping stories told in the first person, and are not interested in brochure-style articles, press releases or promotional pieces.

  6. A numbered 'key' to the photos, with captions should be appended at the end of your article (after the sidebar text).
  7. We respond to all submissions within 4 weeks.

Post It On Facebook / Myspace

This is a great place to share a link to your article and get your friends reading it.

Blog About It

Write a new post on your blog that explains the "behind the scenes" story of why you wrote the article. You could talk about how you first had the idea, planning the trip, the aim you are trying to achieve with your piece, a side-story that didn't make the cut, etc.
Email It To Your Friends / Family
Ask your friends and family for their thoughts on your article by sending them the link

Send It To Other Bloggers

Do some research online and find other great blogs that may be interested in sharing your article with their readers.

Social-media sites offer the chance to gain massive readership to your article. Just make sure you have a lot of friends in your network, and you mark your piece with the right tags. Check out Digg, StumbleUpon, Reddit, and Delicious.
